Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ananda Sen

High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi

•   Born on 15th August 1969, is the only son of late Shyamal Kumar Sen and Smt. Padma Sen. His father and grand father were renowned lawyers practising in the district of undivided Singhbhum, within the State of Bihar, later on Jharkhand.

•   He has done his schooling from Assembly of God Church School at Kolkata and thereafter graduated from Kolkata University in B.Com (Hons.)

•   He Studied LL.B from Chhotanagpur Law College, Ranchi (Ranchi University)

•   After obtaining his law degree, he joined the profession under his father in February, 1996 and started practising at the District Court of Chaibasa and Seraikella-Kharsawan. He shifted to Ranchi in October, 1997 and started practising in the High Court of Jharkhand under the abled guidance of Late M.M. Banerjee, who was also the first Advocate General of the State of Jharkhand.

•   He started his independent practice from October 2003 and continued the same till his elevation as an Additional Judge, Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi.

•   He practised in constitutional, civil, criminal, labour and service matters etc. and was the retainer and panel lawyer of many Institutions, Organizations and Public Sector undertakings, like

    ◦ Hon'ble Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi.

    ◦ DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi.

    ◦ Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi.

    ◦ Steel Authority of India Limited and its all subsidiaries.

    ◦ Coal India Limited and its all subsidiaries like BCCL, ECL,CCL etc.

    ◦ HINDALCO Industries Limited and many others.

•   He was elevated as an Additional Judge of High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi w.e.f. 08th April, 2016 and, as permanent Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi on 09.01.2018.
